Currently, Will is the Afternoon Drive Host for Fresh 93.1 in Barrie, Ontario.
Will can also be heard on Middays on Energy 95.3 in Hamilton / Toronto.
Previously, Will was a host for CHYM 96.7 in Kitchener – the #1 station in the region. He hosted the weekend show and could be heard during every daypart. Will loved the personal connection he had with the CHYM audience – something he had especially felt working remotely and doing a live radio show from home during a pandemic.
Before this, Will worked with the national iHeartRadio brand – creating and sharing social media for the iHeartRadio Top 20 – a nationally syndicated countdown. Will also attended the several events including the MMVAs – covering the show via social media.
Will was proud to accept a position on 999 Virgin Radio Toronto. Working in Toronto was always a part of the plan for Will, so when the opportunity came up to work at Virgin Radio, it’s what he was going to do. As their swing announcer and social media coordinator, Will found himself on air every weekend, and swinging on evenings, afternoons, middays, and assisting the morning show. He was also responsible for organizing and creating content for Virgin Radio’s social media channels.
Will left Ontario for a job as the afternoon drive personality at a station in Peace River, Alberta. After a short time out west, Will was happy to return to Ontario and accept a job as the evening announcer in Barrie at B101! He truly immersed himself in the community but hosting events, remotes, and live to airs at nightclubs on a regular basis. Will’s show on B101 continued to grow in numbers, but for him it was time to achieve another career goal.
He accepted a position at KX96, a country station that was close to home. Will was the on-air events coordinator for the station, and eventually started doing overnights on the station, and become the fill in for on air traffic reports and co hosting with the afternoon drive announcer. In this time will really fell in love with the idea of being on air, so he knew he had to go somewhere where he could have his own show in a full-time capacity!
RADIO & TELEVISION
He also enjoyed his time at Z103.5 where we would assist in promotions for events and remotes. While he started out in promotions, the goal for Will was to always be ON AIR – this is why he got into the business and had always dreamed of doing.
Will Nash started his radio career by doing a placement on the street team at Energy 95.3FM in Hamilton, Ontario. He would attend station events, help with the set up and the tear down on location, hand out prizing, and interact with listeners. Will had his first paying job in the industry at Country 95.3, working in promotions and eventually being trained as a board operator in the studio.
Throughout Will's career in radio, he had some interest in television, however, it wasn’t really until he was working as an announcer at B101 in Barrie when he was presented with an opportunity that he couldn't turn down. Will became a co-host on 'daytime', Rogers TV Barrie. A one-hour, lifestyle show that was LIVE and would air every weekday. It was a dream of Will’s to be able to do a TV show in the mornings and then his radio show in the evenings. He interviewed several members of the community, and he found himself doing everything from cooking, dancing, to working out on the spot.
Will also has had the chance to be a guest on Rogers TV Durham, Rogers TV Kitchener, and has returned for appearances on Rogers TV Barrie.
Last year, Will was a background extra on the hit show, ‘The Handmaids Tale’ – shot in Toronto.
